Successful candidates must have:

• An Engineering or Drafting Degree
• Knowledge in blueprint reading & geometric tolerances
• Be able to understand and work with CAD files and 3D modeling
• Be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• A Minimum one year of experience in a Powder Metal Industry
• An understanding of PM tool design and pressing capabilities

Job Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Assisting Tool Suppliers with Computer Aided Manufacturing
• Creating / modifying blueprints and 3D files
• Participate in Initial Product Manufacturing Meetings
• Occasional commutes to our Corporate Office and Tooling Suppliers in St. Marys, PA

Job Function:

To coordinate the planning, design, and initial production of parts from the initial tool design. Utilize a standard design technique to create tooling that supports the production of multi-level parts over the useable life of the tool and commercial requirement. Maintain a working knowledge of the equipment being used in an industrial environment. Applying the skills learned to engineer and program sophisticated measurement instruments and operate Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Software.

Essential Requirements:

• Develops Models, Drawings and Specifications for tooling required to produce multi-level powder metal parts.
• Prepares cost analysis from interaction with and quotes from viable suppliers.
• Tests to make sure that machinery has the capability to carry out desired functions.
• Coordinates with management to ensure that proper training is provided to workers to implement operating procedures, safety protocols, and to avoid system malfunctions.
• Tests alternative techniques and methods; recommends changes in procedures or equipment as necessary.
• Provides technical information and training to workers in other departments, such as the machine shop, quality, manufacturing as well as other engineering and production areas.

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering or Drafting
• Engineering skills required include knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience, with at least one year in an intern engineering position.
• Experience in the design and development of actual products.
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
